James M. ‘Jim’ Droska, age 59, Carl Junction, passed away at 1:21 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Jim was born December 1, 1954 in Monett, Missouri to Mary L. Welch Droska and the late Joseph Droska and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.
He worked as a welder all of his adult life. He was with Paul Mueller Co. in Springfield for several years and worked over 20 years at B&D Fabrication, Joplin.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his son and entire family, including his nieces and nephews and their children.
He is survived by a son, Jacob Droska, Carl Junction; his mother, Mary Lenore Droska, one brother, John Droska and his wife, Regina, St. Louis; two sisters, Mary Ward and her husband, Dale, Joplin, Margaret Byler and her husband, Larry, Carl Junction; nieces and nephews, Christopher Byler and his fiancé, Shani, Gretchen DeMasters and her husband, Danny, Dan Droska and his wife, Cara, Julie Darmondy and her husband, Joe, Brian Ward and his wife, Heather; and several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation is planned for Friday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. A funeral mass is planned for Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sarcoxie. Interment of the ashes will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
