Audrey L. Landis, age 34, Joplin, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.
Audrey was born April 14, 1980 in Joplin to David Landis and Libby Miller Landis and had lived in Joplin all of her life.
She was employed in the first classes at the new AT&T Mobility Call Center in Joplin. She was hired as a team manager and worked her way up to operations. She began college in the fall of ’98, but did not finish due to personal issues. She loved music and enjoyed playing flute while in school. She was an active member of the Joplin High School Marching Band and was elected drum major for her senior year.
Survivors include her son, Colton Landis; parents, David and Libby Landis, Joplin; one brother, Jared Landis and his wife, Shelly, Overland Park, Kansas; niece, Sydney Landis, Overland Park, Kansas; nephew, Thaddeus Landis, Overland Park, Kansas; and one uncle, Michael Miller, California.
She was preceded in death by an uncle, George Miller.
Services are planned for Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Mike Curry will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.
