Robert Charles (Bob) Mackey, age 71 of Joplin, passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at his home after an illness of many years.
Born November 29, 1942 in Duluth, MN, he was the son of the late Frank E. Mackey and Vera F. Miskimins Mackey. Following his graduation from High School, Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Bob was a longtime employee of Southwestern Bell/AT&T and retired as a Project Manager. He had lived in Joplin the past 12 years, moving from the St. Louis are, where he was a longtime resident.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Kasner and husband Eric of Eureka, MO, Susan Harmon and husband William of Pacific, MO; his sister, Zola Golden and husband Jack of Joplin; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Rites will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Bob Simon officiating at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
