Marion H. "Pete" Pierce, age 73, Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014.
Pete was a Christian man born July 11, 1940 in Harrison, Arkansas to the late Marion E. and Ernestine Pierce, and he graduated from Alba High School.
Pete married Marybelle Katherine Alumbaugh on October 18, 1958. They had four children, daughters Julie Jones and husband Bruce of Webb City, Sheila Runyan and husband Thomas of Springfield, Missouri, and Treva Vailes who preceded him in death. a son, Ralph Pierce and wife Sheri of Oronogo, Missouri; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Pete worked at Carthage Marble as a heavy equipment operator for 43 years before retiring in 2005. He enjoyed being outdoors where he loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed farming, and Webb City Football.
Pete is also survived by his brothers, David and Robert Pierce both of Carthage, and a sister, Polly Roy of Webb City.
In addition to his parents, and daughter, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marybelle, and a brother, John Pierce.
Pete was known as a loving Dad, PaPa, and CowPaPa. He was loved dearly, and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Webb City with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler and Rev. Gerald Holden officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Private inurnment of his ashes will occur at a later date in Friends Cemetery, Purcell, Missouri, next to his wife.
