Grace Eleanor Martin, age 71 of Joplin, MO passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin after an extended illness.
Grace was born September 21, 1942 to the late Clarence and Velma Bulley Kinney in Blaine, Maine. She was a beautician all her life, owning and operating Bungalow Beauty Shop in Joplin. She married Jerry Banning in 1962 but he passed away just four years later. On April 19, 1968 Grace married Wayne Martin in Joplin. He survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jeff Banning and wife Lori of Monett, MO, Roger Martin and wife Stephnie of Bella Vista, AR; adopted daughter, Chelsea Garcia of Joplin; three sisters, Nina Fish and husband Carl of Maine, Linda Klinzman and husband Junior of Columbus, KS, Lillian Sibley and husband Gary of Maine; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death also by one sister, Donna Boyce.
Memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Parker Mortuary. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to the American Diabetes Foundation in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, MO.
