Elmer Mitchell

 Elmer Emory Mitchell, age 72, of La Russell, MO, passed Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home with his family at his side.

Elmer was born April 25, 1941 at Goodman, MO to Elmer Edgar Mitchell and Flossie Evelyn (Brown) Mitchell. He was one of 14 children. On June 14, 1963, he married Edna Jane Laughlin at Goodman, MO and together they had five children. He was a self-employed logger and tree trimmer. Elmer was a loving husband, father and grandpa.

Elmer leaves behind his wife of nearly 51 years; two sons, Emory Dale Mitchell and his wife Ruth of La Russell, and Terry Don Mitchell and his wife Tona of Golden City, MO; two daughters, Sherry Lynn Mitchell and her husband Royce, of Walker, MO and Shelly Crockett and her husband Mike, of Lamar, MO; four brothers, Bob Mitchell, Marvin & Lois Mitchell, Tom Mitchell, and Roy & Janice Mitchell; five sisters, Barbara Pridemore, Kay & Vern Ehrishman, Fay Barnhart, and Jean & John McDonald and Juanita Mahurin; 10 grandchildren, Dewayne & Andrea Mitchell, Mikey & Sarah Hart, Brandon Hart, Terry Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Katie Mitchell, Hunter & Kylor Crockett, Megan Estes, John Estes; and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son, John Mitchell, two sisters, Linda White and Elma Dean Mitchell; four brothers, J.A. Brown, Bud Mitchell, John Mitchell, Darrel Mitchell, an infant grandson, Kevin Mitchell, and a son-in-law Mike Hart.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Monday, April 14, 2014 at Main Street Baptist Church in Greenfield, MO with burial to follow at Pennsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 2:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday at Daniel Funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to the Mitchell family to help with funeral expenses.
