(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)
John Isaac Fleming, 14, of Webb City, passed away Sunday, April 27, from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident.
John was born on September 14, 1999 in Joplin to Brian and Valerie (Oakes) Fleming. He was an eighth-grader at Webb City Junior High School. He was a member of the Webb City Jr. High Marching Band, the Jazz Band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Student Council. He played the tuba, drums, guitar, and keyboard. He played team basketball and football in the past, and had recently been on the track team, throwing the shot put. He loved playing basketball after school with his good friends. He loved to attend church camp in the summer. John enjoyed playing guitar with his Dad and brothers, and loved riding the 4-wheeler.
John had attended church at Riverton Friends Church and was a member of the Prosperity Apostolic Faith Church. He was very active in the youth group and was on the praise team. He was a children's church volunteer and had volunteered at Watered Gardens with his youth group. He was a member of a contemporary Christian band, Immortal Devotion, and wrote songs for them. John felt like he had a “call from God” on his life to be a preacher. He spent many hours listening to the sermons of others and studying his Bible.
