Audria Donet Decker, age 40, of rural Lamar, passed away early Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital surrounded by her family.
Audria was born June 27, 1974 in Dimmitt, Texas, one of the three children of Don and Janina (Oakley) Johnson. After graduating from high school, she attended Dallas Baptist University. Audria moved to Missouri and worked for Thorco Industries where she met the love of her life, Richard W. Decker, Jr. They were married October 15, 1994, in Lamar, and have made their home and raised their son, Nathan in Barton County. Audria was a devoted wife, mother, and hospitable homemaker. She was an avid reader and Bible scholar who enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Audria was an accomplished pianist and shared cross stitch and tatting projects with friends and family. She was an active member of Grace Place and a former member of Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 20 years, Richard and son, Nathan both of the home; her parents, Don and Jan Johnson, Seagoville, Texas; parents-in-law, Richard, Sr. & Peggy Decker, Lamar; a brother, Don (Renee) Johnson, Seagoville; a sister, JaDonna Hoover, Cassville, Missouri; three nephews; three nieces; sister-in-law Samantha (Rick) Benson, Joplin; and a former brother-in-law and special friend, Joe Hoover, Cassville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Audrey & Ruby Johnson and Everett, II & Edieth Oakley; and an uncle, Everett Oakley, III.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3rd at Daniel Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Lake Cemetery. Everyone is invited to share in a celebration of Audria’s life that will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, August 4th at Grace Place northeast of Lamar.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Decker family to help with medical and funeral expenses.
