Rev. Harry Winnett, age 82, of Gautier, MS., a former Joplin, Mo. resident passed away at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Harry was born April 4, 1932 in Stotts City, Mo. and graduated from Carl Junction, MO High School in 1950. He worked for Quaker Oats Co. for 43 years, with 22 years being in MS. He retired in 1994. Harry was also a licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God Church. He had pastored churches in Joplin and Wade MS. He enjoyed hospital visitation and praying for his members.
Harry married Shirley Beeler Feb. 13, 1954 in Joplin, Mo. and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Terry L. Winnett and wife Deborah, Pascagoula, MS., and Dennis A. Winnett and wife Linda, Robinson, Il., a daughter in law, Suzanne Winnett, Auburn, Ca. one brother, Bob Winnett and wife Delores, Joplin, one sister, Mary McWethy and husband Ken, Joplin, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Winnett.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Bob Winnett officiating. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the Chapel. Memorial contributions are requested to the Gideons Foundation in care of the Pascagoula Church of God, 2511 Chico St. Pascagoula, MS 39581. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, MO.
