Charles R. “Chuck” Granholm Sr., also known as “Granny” age 70, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 7:10 p.m.. Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Post Acute Medical Hospital of Tulsa following a three month illness. Chuck was born November 7, 1943 in Cacilla, Mississippi. He had lived in Joplin since 1963. Chuck was employed with Jimmy Michel Motors in Aurora, Mo. He began his career in auto sales with R&S Chevrolet, and worked for Reeves Auto Sales, and numerous other area car dealerships. He also had owned his own Used Car Lot. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Chuck was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Webb City, and the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus. He was formerly active with the Joplin Jaycees, and active in Joplin bowling leagues.
Chuck married Betty Hobson January 29, 1966 in Joplin and she survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Charles R. “Chuck” Granholm Jr., Greenville, Indiana, and Mark Christopher Granholm and wife Glenda, Louisville, Kentucky, his Mother, Shirley Granholm-Fisher, Pensacola, Fl., and five grandchildren; Gavin Xavier Granholm, Joshua Christopher Granholm, Taylor Hannah-Marie Granholm, Anastacia Ray Granholm, and Kelton Elijah Granholm.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Webb City with Rev. Rahab Isidor officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are requested to Our Lord’s Prayer Garden in care of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation arrangements and services have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
