Joyce A. D’Ostilio, age 76, Joplin, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014 at her residence after an illness.
Joyce was born September 18, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to the late Kenneth E. Owings and Margaret Bales Owings and had lived in Joplin the past several months, moving from Kimberling City.
Joyce worked for the Federal Reserve for over 20 years, retiring in the mid 1980’s. She was a faithful member of Kimberling City United Methodist Church; member of Theta Sigma Phi Sorority; enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She married Patrick D’Ostilio on March 16, 1956 in Indianola, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn D’Ostilio and her husband, Arne Anderson, Illinois, Tracey Vinsand and her husband, Paul, Joplin; two brothers, Ken Owings, Ozark, Missouri, Ricky Owings, California; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Ella, Olivia; and her beloved dogs, Domino and Tinker.
Memorial services are being planned for Thursday at Stumpf Funeral Home in Kimberling City and for Saturday at Iles Funeral Home, Des Moines, Iowa.
Committal services are planned for Saturday at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Branson/Tri-Lakes Humane Society.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
