Dorothy June Fry, age 77, Joplin, passed away at 8:07 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at her home after an illness.
Dorothy was born July 14, 1937 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Walter and Georgia Crouse Fry.
She retired from King Press in the mid 1980’s and worked as a page for the Joplin Public Library for 10 years. She was a faithful member of Faith Tabernacle and played the piano for 45 years.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Malcolm Glenn Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Michiyo, Ventura, California; two daughters, Carol Thomas, Joplin, Denise Womble and fiancé, Mike Kelso, Joplin; and four grandchildren, Eden Womble and fiancé, Maher Abu-Libdeh, Michelle Thomas, Melinda Thomas and fiancé, Jay DeJesus and Misty Kelso.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Thomas.
Services are planned for Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Glenn Thomas, Jr., Mike Kelso, Kenny Phillips, Mike Wooden, Patrick Phillips and Jim Wilson.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
