Sharon Anna (Seigel) Forkner, age 70, of Lamar, MO died at her home Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
Sharon was born November 12, 1943 at Welch, OK to Woodrow William Seigel and Margaret Juanita (Grooms) Seigel. She attended school at Welch, OK. Sharon worked at O’Sullivan Industries for many years. She also did some babysitting and was an assistant Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and is well known for her beautiful wisteria. She loved golfing, fishing and camping with her family. She was very talented and enjoyed painting old saw blades and murals. Sharon is described as a “Giver” and had a “Gentle, Kind Spirit”. She was recently baptized and was very happy that she was able to share that experience with many of her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were most precious and she loved to share photos of them every chance she had. Her pets were like children to her; especially her Bandi, who lived to be 18 years old.
Sharon leaves behind two sons, Rodney & Lorie Forkner, Irwin, MO and Brett Forkner & Sherry Weis, Lamar, MO; one daughter, Tamie Hurt, Lamar, MO. Her fiancĂ© David Cartwright. One brother, Rick & Debbie Seigel, Welch, OK; three sisters, Beverly & Bill Haire, Vinita, OK, Carolyn & Jack Forkner, Joplin, MO and Patty & Paul Ercolin, La Grande, OR, two sister in-laws, Karen Seigel, Welch OK and Sue Seigel, Branson, CO; her mother-in-law, Ramona Forkner; five grandchildren, Ryan, Chase, Kaleb, Brandon, and Justin; and five great-grandchildren, Beighlor Jess, Oliver, Paisley, Dylan, and Samantha. There are many nieces and nephews who she also dearly loved along with her fiancĂ© David’s family, children and grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers Billy and Albert Seigel, and a sister Becky Parker.
Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Walker Cemetery, Welch, OK with Rob Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, at Daniel Funeral Home.
