She was born April 28, 1922 in Dade County, Missouri to Ezra Marion and Isabelle Katherine (Spoon) Blanchard. Clara was a homemaker and worked as a school bus driver for the Jasper School District. She was an avid quilter. Clara was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle, and the 4 Squares Extension Club. She was a founding leader of the Clover 4-H Club.
Clara was united in marriage to Lloyd Hobson on January 28, 1940. He preceded her in death on March 24,1976. Survivors include one son, Gary Hobson. Four daughters, Adele Hobson, Rita Miller, Sondra Smith, and Vickie Marcum. One brother, Harold Blanchard. Two sisters, Pauline Rogers, and Loretta Owen. Seventeen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, A daughter, Karel Owens. A brother, Irvin Blanchard. Two sisters, Lillie Flesh and Leta Moore. Two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter-in-law Debra Hobson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Jasper United Methodist Church, Jasper, MO.. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. Burial will be in Avilla Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Jasper United Methodist Church.
