(From Clark Funeral Home)Matthew Rand Thomas, born January 12, 1959, in Joplin, MO, departed this life February 5, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Matt was one of six children born to the late Nelson and Mina (Hawksford) Thomas.
On May 20, 1983, he was united in marriage to Mary Beth Woodrum, who was the love of his life. Matt was a devoted husband, father, and poppie.
He is survived by three sons; Josh Thomas, Neosho, MO, Zach Thomas, (wife Harmony), Neosho, MO and Brian Daugherty, Neosho, MO and two daughters, Lesley deLaunay (husband Jared), Neosho, MO and Rebecca Glavin, Austin, TX as well as nine grandchildren; Halie and Hunter Thomas; Aidan Daugherty; Ryan, Jauslyn, and Reese deLaunay; Jarett, Jamar, and Jahzara Burleson and four siblings; Karen Thomas (husband Greg), Springfield, MO, Patty Pogue, Springfield, MO, Cindi Thomas, Neosho, MO, Michael Thomas (wife Tara), Neosho, MO. He also had many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Matt was a man of many talents. He enjoyed woodwork, mechanical work, dancing, listening to music, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He worked in construction and mechanics his entire life.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Todd Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the Clark Funeral Home in Neosho with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
