Violet Adams

Violet Loretta Adams was born April 16, 1933 in Newton County, Missouri, one of four children to Laurel and Pearl (Ledford) Gilstrap. She entered into rest, surrounded by her loving family in Neosho, Missouri on February 11, 2022 at the age of 88. Violet was a lifelong area resident. 

She had worked at the Nifty Café in Neosho and in the Westview Schools food services. She loved farm life and worked actively on the family dairy farm for 28 years and was a wonderful homemaker. She was a seamstress, enjoyed working in her flower garden, having tea parties and she loved her family and time together. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, currently the Highway 60 congregation. 

On December 24, 1948 in rural Seneca, Violet and C. Leon Adams were married and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2003. 

Violet is survived by four children, Anita (James) McNeill of Neosho, Annette (Darryl) Harbaugh, of Neosho, Kent (Tracie) Adams of Neosho and Keith (Jill) Adams of Independence, MO; seventeen grandchildren and thirty three great grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Mathre; granddaughter, Lisa McNeill and three brothers.
