Jeff Wilson

Kenneth Jefferson “Jeff” Wilson, age 85, Carl Junction, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his home with family at his side.

Jeff was born November 18, 1936 in Hominy, Oklahoma, son of the late Kenneth Taylor Wilson and Ann Ferrell (Bullock) Wilson. He grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Little Rock High School. 

He was a gifted swimmer for the Boys Club where he competed in swimming and held the Arkansas State record time for many years in the Butterfly Stroke. 








He went to the University of Texas on a swimming scholarship, and after his sophomore year he moved to Fayetteville to attend the University of Arkansas where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Eagle Picher for 37 years before retiring in 1996 to become a farmer and rancher. He did this on his property outside of Carl Junction. He was a member of New Hope Church, and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church for years. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited.

In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by a grandson, Lakin Murdock.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Dines-Wilson of Carl Junction; son, Jeffrey Scott Wilson and wife Tracy of Paron, Arkansas; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Waters of West Fork, Arkansas; step-children, Gregg Wilson and wife Shelly of Houston, Texas, Kristina Dines of Joplin, and Kyle Dines and wife Teresa of Sherwood, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, Liam Selvey, Jessie Selvey, Mendy Cherie Sherman, Cara Jan Wilson, Tyler Bowers, Katie Murdock, Bradyn Dines, Kayla Dines, Hilary Gorman, Nathan Wilson, Rachel Nicholson, and Christopher Wilson; 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Gregory Mech officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Randy Steele officiating and Kyle Dines, Tyler Bowers, Christopher Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Liam Selvy, Jessie Selvy, Scott Graham, and Mike Eddy serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or New Hope Church.
