(From Knell Mortuary)David Eugene “Dave” Howard, 77, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the St Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. He was born on December 13, 1945, in Carthage, the son of the late Ralph and Virginia (Michael) Howard.
Dave was a 1963 graduate of Carthage High School. He married Nadine Hoofnagle on July 11, 1965, in Carthage.
Dave worked at Flex-O-Lators, and then Vickers, taught at the Carthage Vocational Technical School, and lastly was owner and operator of the Howard Machine Shop until his retirement.
He was a member of the Diamond First Baptist Church, the Knights of Pythias, the Carthage Rotary Club, Vintage Rods Car Club, Harley Hog Chapter, and served on the board of the Sunshine Home. Dave enjoyed antique tractors, old cars, motorcycles, collecting guns, farming, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Nadine; his children, Tina McGuire, Prairie Village, Kansas, Tim Howard (Heather), Carl Junction, Missouri, and Tom Howard (Stephanie), Carthage, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Breck McGuire, Lauren McGuire, Taylor Howard, Ethan Howard, Jadyn Howard, Tyler Howard, and Kassidy Howard; a brother, Steve Howard (Judy), Carthage, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Rimer (Gary), Carthage, Missouri, and Mary Allison (Gary), Carthage, Missouri.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Howard.

Funeral service will be held at 2 Pm Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the Diamond First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Emmanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary.
