Dennis Offutt

On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Dennis Orrell Offutt, affectionately referred to by his sons as DaddyO (Daddy Offutt) passed away at 85 years of age, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, March 4th, at the Stoney Point Assembly of God near Jerico Springs.  Rev. Grant Curtis will officiate.  Burial will be at Amos Cemetery, northwest of Lockwood.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Glenda Offutt and a brother Darrell Offutt and his wife Frieda of Neosho, Missouri.  He had 3 children, two sons;  Derren and his wife Julie of Plano, TX and Lance and his wife Elita of Frisco, TX and a stepdaughter Danielle Alarcon and her husband Hugh of Kingsport, TN, four grandchildren, Jade, Nathan, Amber, and Ava.

Dennis was preceded in death by his brother Donald, mother Vinita and father Jim.

Dennis was born at the family farm north of Golden City, Missouri, Dade County in 1937.  From a poor farm boy, to the Navy, two college degrees and many high-tech engineering leadership roles in the federal government and private sectors – Dennis achieved his goals with quiet self- determination and humility.  He was absolutely the quintessential example of living the “American Dream,” having achieved so much success through hard work, determination, and initiative.

The family wishes to echo the lifelong desire of Dennis to do our very best to be peaceable, kind, and respectful to one another, and most of all try to follow closely in Jesus’ footsteps.  (1 Peter 2:21).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at (www.alz.org.)
