(From Uecker-Witt Funeral Home)John M. Patterson Jr, 68, passed away at his home in Fond du Lac on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023. He was born in Fond du Lac on December 7th, 1954, to John M. Patterson Sr. and Florence (Blaylock) Patterson.
Depending on when you met John, you may have known him by John, Jackie, Tex or Cowboy. John spent most of his career working in leather factories.
In October of 1973, he married Martha Arellano. During his middle-aged years, he enjoyed collecting Salt N Pepper shakers and attending the club’s yearly conventions throughout the United States. He also enjoyed traveling to Joplin, MO to spend time with his mom and family members.
During his last several years, John was determined to live his life the way he wanted, spending much of his time socializing at local establishments where he made many new friends who enjoyed his quick wit and his ability to start up a conversation with anyone. He will be remembered for always wanting to have a good time. He was always proud of his two sons and the grandchildren in his life.
Surviving are his two sons, Tim (Janeen) Patterson of Fond du Lac and Troy (Paula) Patterson of North Fond du Lac. Five grandchildren, Brandon, Robyn, Jordan, Leah and Gabe. Two brothers, Brian (Candy) Patterson of Carl Junction, MO. and half-brother Duane Murphy of Kimberly, WI. Three sisters, Lynnie (Harrison) Cupp of Carthage, MO., Debbie (Steve) Shively of Joplin, MO., and Cathy (Tim) Reed of Joplin, MO. Also surviving is his former wife, Martha Patterson.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Robbie and Bruce; and two sisters, Sharon and Diane. In honor of John’s wishes there will be no Church or Memorial service.
A celebration of life will take place Friday March 17th , 2023, from 3pm-8pm at Top Shelf Sports Bar and Grille in Fond du Lac, 90 S. Main Street. Cremation has taken place.
