(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Sandra Ann Forbes, age 83, of Riverton, KS, passed away on Saturday March 4, 2023, at the Solace House, following a long full-filled life.
Sandra was born on November 25, 1939, in Stella, MO, the daughter of the late Raymond and Vera (Carter) Endicott. Sandra’s father was a Joplin Police officer who died in the line of duty in 1949 when she was only eight years old. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1957 and she attended Joplin Junior College.
She met and married the love of her life, Bill Forbes on January 24, 1958, in Joplin. Together they were blessed with three sons. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma.
Sandra was a longtime member of Southside Apostolic Faith Church. Through the years she taught numerous Sunday School classes. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Sandra also enjoyed cooking for many years for the church youth camp and camp meetings. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Arnold Johnson, and a son, Scott Forbes. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Bill Forbes, Riverton, KS; two sons, Brad Forbes and wife Kara, Overland Park, KS, and Doug Forbes and wife Mindy, Riverton, KS; a daughter-in-law Cindy Forbes, Katy, TX; four granddaughters, Charissa Howard, Katy, TX, Haley Stockton, San Diego, CA, Emily Stockton, Overland Park, KS, and Kelsa Walton and husband Dusty, Riverton, KS; two grandsons, Gavin Forbes and wife, Ashley, Joplin, MO, and Cale Forbes, Riverton, KS and five great-grandchildren, Hugo Howard, Archer Galo, Brynleigh Forbes, Rylann, and Colson Walton; one brother, Danny Endicott and wife Rae, Branson, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Southside Apostolic Faith Church. Reverend Richard Morris and Brian Moser will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS.
The visitation will be held 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be given to Southside Apostolic Faith Church in care of the mortuary.
