Colleen Hearon, 87 of Joplin, MO passed from this life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Joplin Gardens, Joplin, MO.
Colleen was born March 11, 1936 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Orval and Frances Marie (Fithian) Hodge.
Colleen was united in marriage to A.V. Hearon on June 20, 1954 in Snyder, Texas. He preceded her in death April 15, 2015.
Colleen worked as a seamstress for King Louie Manufacturing in Baxter Springs, before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, working on genealogy, crafting and scrapbooking. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Joplin, MO.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Gary, Jim, and Billy Hodge; two sisters, Beverly Smith and Linda Harrison; son-in-law, Lyndell Edwards.

Colleen is survived by one son, Kevin Hearon and wife Toni of Galena, KS; two daughters, Elaine Edwards of Webb City, MO, and Teresa Berry and husband Ron of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Mike Hodge of Texas; two sisters, Sue Simmons and Patty Brummit, both of Texas; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Lowell Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Saturday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
