(From Brown-Winters Funeral Home)Gerald "Joe" Harper Goodman Jr., 63, a resident of Miami passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri.
Joe was born on February 3, 1960 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Gerald H. Goodman Sr. and Mary Florence (Nickerson) Goodman. He graduated with the Class of 1979 at Miami High School. He went on to work for years on the pipelines as a heavy equipment operator.
When he was able to retire from that he went to work in Joplin for the County doing the same, and driving a truck for them when needed. Joe was a lover of country music and T-bone steaks, he enjoyed date night with his wife Kathy usually on Friday, and his family was very important to him. Joe was preceded in passing by his parents Gerald and Mary Goodman, a daughter Niki Goodman and son Jeremy Cherry.
Survivors include his wife Kathy (Buchanan) Goodman of the home, Joe's son Gerald "Cody" Harper Goodman, III of Goodman, Missouri, Brandon Cherry and his wife Chanda of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother Roy Goodman of Russellville, Arkansas, along with his many cousins and other relatives and friends.
Survivors include his wife Kathy (Buchanan) Goodman of the home, Joe's son Gerald "Cody" Harper Goodman, III of Goodman, Missouri, Brandon Cherry and his wife Chanda of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother Roy Goodman of Russellville, Arkansas, along with his many cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the Myaamia Heritage Cemetery.
