(From Parker Mortuary)James Leslie Moore, age 80, Carl Junction, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023.
Jim was born on June 21, 1943 in Joplin, son of LeRoy Moore and Ada G (McEntire) Moore. He grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School in 1961. He also attended Joplin Junior College. He worked for Blackman Merchandisers and Fleming Foods before ending his career with Continental Research. He was very active with the class of 1961 and enjoyed spending time with his former classmates.
Jim never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting new people wherever he traveled and helping those in need. In addition to people, Jim was always working to aid and help animals in need. He devoted time and gifts to local humane societies. His real passion was grilling out and smoking meats and cheeses for his close friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson Dylan Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Beverly E (Dodge) Moore, sons, Michael Moore and wife Susan of Rogers, AR, Stephen Moore and his wife Georgette of St. Louis, MO, Travis Moore and wife Toby Moore of Neosho MO, and Garry Moore and his wife Carrie of St. Louis; grandchildren, Derek, McKenna, Leo, Elliot, Jonah, Zoe, Alex, Rhys, Ty, Samuel and Wyatt and great-granddaughter Nora; three brothers, Gene Elrod of Joplin, Howard Elrod of Springfield and Wayne Moore of Goodman MO; a sister Shirley Chaney of Webb City; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Private internment of his ashes will take place at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
