Nina Osborne

Nina Louise Osborne, 93, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home. Nina was born at the McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, Missouri on November 28, 1929, to Forest L. Maddox and Gladys Myrtle (Smith) Maddox. She was the oldest of their two children and had a sister, Lois (Maddox) Lewton. Forest Maddox passed away when Nona was 4 years old.

Her mother remarried Clayton Cook from which she has another sister, Judy (Cook) Miller. Nina graduated from Golden City High School in Golden City, Missouri, and Draughn’s Business College in Springfield, Missouri.







Nina married her high school sweetheart, Hollis Paul Osborne at her home in Golden City, Missouri on September 12, 1950. Nina and Hollis were married for 71 wonderful years in which they provided a legacy showing the importance of family and the blessing of following and serving God. 

Nina spent her life faithfully loving and serving her family. She taught various Bible Study groups and was a prayer warrior. She was a great example of a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Anyone loved by her was truly blessed.








Nina is survived by four children, Holly Adams (Randy), Paul Osborne (Ronda), Ronnie Osborne (Kim), and Karen Downs (Danny). She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Nina’s funeral service is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Nazarene Church in Carthage, Missouri. Internment will follow services at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
