Janet Leigh Cole of Miami, OK passed from this life Monday, August 14, 2023 at her home. She was 74.

Janet was born May 28, 1949 in Miami, OK to John and Ruby (Rusco) Buergey. She had lived in the Miami area all her life and graduated from Miami High School class of 1967. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo. 

She was a social worker for Department of Human Services in Miami, OK for 30 years. Janet attended First Freewill Baptist Church in Miami, OK.







Janet was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Donna Mercer.

Survivors include 2 sons, Brook Still and wife Dana of Miami, OK and Ryan Cole and wife Erica of Port Aransas, TX, 1 daughter, Andrea Cummings of Fairland, OK, 1 sister, Lisa Taylor and husband Zachary of Oklahoma City, OK, 9 grandchildren, Paige Clapp, Madison Cummings, Jacob Still, Hailey Cummings, Matthew Cole, Savanna Terrell, Cheyenne Dominguez and Antonio Urrea and 1 great grandchild, Dru Urrea.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at First Freewill Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Joe Clapp will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. 

Bucky Barnes, Seth McCormick, Randy Mercer, Jacob Still, Jim Hollon and Levi Dalrymple will serve as pallbearers. Joe Berry and Steve Hallett will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
