(From Parker Mortuary) Lee Welch, age 63 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Joplin Health and Rehab Center. Lee was born January 16, 1960 in Carthage, Illinois to Gerald L. Welch and Loretta (Seaver) Welch. The family moved from California to Southwest Missouri where he graduated from Neosho High School.
Though never married, and having no children of his own, Lee was very close to his family and all of his nieces and nephews were treated as his own.
He worked for Ford Motor Company as a mechanic along with owning his own business, Lee’s Classic Auto Repair. Lee enjoyed spending time with his father at swap meets around the area and tinkering with cars of all ages and styles.
Lee is survived by his mother, Loretta Welch of Joplin; brothers, Scott Welch of Joplin and Glen Welch of Carthage, Missouri; sister, Nicole Dorris of Duenweg, Missouri; nieces and nephews include, Brittney Dorris, Ebenee Brewer, Matthew Welch, Josh Welch, Chris Welch, Daniel Welch, Rachel Wood, Aaron Welch, Haillie Kemper; and 16 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Lee is survived by his mother, Loretta Welch of Joplin; brothers, Scott Welch of Joplin and Glen Welch of Carthage, Missouri; sister, Nicole Dorris of Duenweg, Missouri; nieces and nephews include, Brittney Dorris, Ebenee Brewer, Matthew Welch, Josh Welch, Chris Welch, Daniel Welch, Rachel Wood, Aaron Welch, Haillie Kemper; and 16 Great Nieces and Nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Lee Welch.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri. No services are scheduled at this time.
