Rick Turner

Rick Joe Turner, age 69, Joplin, MO., passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his home.

Rick was born, October 21, 1953, in Joplin. The son of the late Joe R. Turner and Betty (Bennett) Turner.

Rick worked at Meekers Leather Co., Joplin Stockyard and later the City of Joplin on the Street Department for 25 years.

Survivors include his wife; Terry (Harris) Turner. They were married on September 4, 1971 in Joplin. One daughter; Terena Turner of Joplin, two granddaughters; Lacey Virtue of Sarcoxie, MO. and Candace Coursen of Carthage, MO., six great-grandsons; Hunter, Dakota, Bentley, Trever, Wesley and Colton, sister; Mardisa Rich and husband Jerry of Joplin, brothers; Dan Turner of Joplin, Joe Turner and wife Vicki of Carterville, MO., Tim Turner and wife Donna of Walnut Grove, MO., and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or to the Mustang Heritage Foundation in care of the mortuary.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
