Steven Ketchum

Steven Ray Ketchum, age 67, of Joplin, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at his home in Joplin.

Steven, son of the late Leonard and Mary Jane (Lawson) Ketchum, was born on December 21, 1955, in McMinnville, OR. At a young age, he moved to the Webb City area where he would remain. On March 30, 2018, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Brownfield, she survives.








Steven worked most of his life as a tool and die maker, retiring from MAP. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Brownfield, of Joplin; one granddaughter of the home, Amy Huffman; two sons, Will Ketchum, and Travis Ketchum, both of Carthage; stepchildren, Kristy Huffman, of Wichita, and Clifford Huffman, and wife, Donnie, of Joplin; two sisters; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. 








In addition to his parents, Steven was preceded in death by one brother, David Ketchum; and one furry friend, Sage.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life gathering at the home of Steven and Phyllis on Sunday, August 20, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
