Cheryl Reed

Cheryl A. Reed, 61, of Rural Altamont, died at 2:35 P.M., Sunday, August 14, 2023 at her home.

She was born October 31, 1961 at Columbus, a daughter of Robert Neal and Margret “Peggy” J. (Hamilton) Coble. She was raised in Columbus and attended school there. After completing high school in 1979 she attended cosmetology school at the Independence Community College.

On June 28, 1980 she and Delvin Reed were united in marriage at Baxter Springs, KS. Cheryl then moved to Altamont and was employed at Sherwin Williams at Parsons and later worked at the K-State Extension Office at Altamont. She then cut hair in a salon at her house.

She attended the Western Way Cowboy Church at Altamont and was baptized there. She enjoyed quilting, golfing and playing with grandchildren.

Survivors include: her husband – Delvin Reed, of the home, KS, one son – Justin Reed, of Parsons, KS; one daughter – Jenna Nash, of Altamont, KS; five grandchildren; her mother – Margret “Peggy” Coble, of Columbus, KS; one brother – Rick Coble, of Carl Junction, MO.

Her father and sister, Cathy Gurnee, preceded her in death.
