(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Donna Lou (Hudson) McGinty, 76, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Sarcoxie, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri after a sudden illness.
Donna was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1947 in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Lee R. and Jimi L. (Brown) Hudson. She grew up in Sarcoxie, and later relocated to Springfield where she graduated from High School.
After graduation, she furthered her education and received certification, becoming a licensed respiratory therapist. She was a loyal and dedicated employee who loved caring for people. Even though Donna was an only child, she had many brothers and sisters in her circle of friends that she cherished. Donna loved spending time with her granddaughter, Madison, listening to music, reading and visiting with her family and friends. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Kirstie Smith and husband, Steve, of Joplin, Missouri; granddaughter, Madison Wilson, of Joplin, Missouri; and four cousins, the “Hudson Girls”, Dr. Jackie Lee Hudson, of Gruver, Texas, Nancy Sambaiew and husband, Vlad, of Gruver, Texas, Judy Buchanan and husband, Glenn, of Perry, Oklahoma and Jean Harris and husband, Kenneth, of Gruver, Texas; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Donna are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Trey Laveroni officiating. Burial will follow at Sarcoxie Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Duke Eye Center for Research in care of the funeral home.
