Erin Boursheski

Erin Lea (Hansford) Boursheski, age 64, of Pierce City, MO passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was born in Diamond, MO on Tuesday, May 26, 1959; daughter of Russell and Vera (Geiger) Hansford. She graduated from Diamond High School and studied Social Work at Crowder College in Neosho where she worked as a state social worker. 

She married Kent Boursheski on Saturday, February 28, 1987, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO.








Erin was an avid reader and had a passion for genealogy, she was a talented cook specializing in Polish family dishes. Erin was a sharp businesswoman managing the family farm, personal businesses and vacation rental property. She used her talents supporting her community by volunteering as an election judge for Barry County for many years. And she was a leader in her church where she taught preschool and led an outreach program. She also enjoyed planning family gatherings and vacations.


Surviving are the following: her husband, Kent Boursheski of Pierce City, MO; two sons, Adam Boursheski of St. Louis, MO and Drew Boursheski of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Sara Boursheski of Pierce City, MO, two uncles, Gary (Michele) Hansford of Carthage, MO and Freddie (Donna Sue) of Granby, MO, and Backsmeyer and Woods family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Vera Hansford.








Erin was a loving wife, wonderful mother, very special aunt, caring niece, cousin, and friend.

The family will receive friends at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO on Friday, September 1, 2023. Rosary will be at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Mass will be at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pulaskifield, MO on Saturday, September 2, 2023, beginning at 1:30 PM with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Burial will follow at the SS Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SS Peter and Paul Building Fund. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
