Delbert Myers

Delbert Chester Myers, 78, of Reeds, Missouri, passed away on January 26, 2024, in Sarcoxie, Missouri. He was a beloved father, stepfather, and an adoring husband to Mary Ann Myers, the love of his life who proceeded him in death.

Delbert was born on October 20, 1944, in Carthage, Missouri, to the late Delbert C. Myers Sr. and Susan E. Myers. Throughout his life, Delbert worked in various trades throughout his life. He was a skilled truck driver, roofer, rancher, and farrier. His dedication and work ethic were evident in everything he pursued.








Outside of his professional life, Delbert found joy in various hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. Del enjoyed gardening and he had a green thumb, tending to his plants with care and nurturing them to thrive. Delbert was also an avid gun enthusiast, hunter, fisherman, and animal lover. These passions allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors.

Beyond his professional pursuits and hobbies, Del had a genuine affection for animals. He was an animal lover through and through, showing kindness and compassion to all creatures great and small. It was not unusual for Del to bring home a stray.

Delbert will be deeply missed by his surviving family members, including his brothers and sisters: Melvin, Eldon, Gladys, Ora, Bobby, Diana, Jerold, and Debbie. He is also survived by his children: Cheryl Smith, Jenny Myers, Del Chaun Myers, Rebecca Myers, and his stepchildren Michael Markison, Karen Meyers, and Laura Markison. Delbert leaves behind a legacy as a loving and proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren and a great-grandfather of six great- grandchildren.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert C. Myers Sr. and Susan E. Myers, as well as his beloved partner, Mary Ann Myers. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Roscoe, Brenda, Eugene, Bill and his Grandson Emmanual Lovell and Carly Smith.








A memorial service to celebrate Delbert's life will be held on February 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gene Taylor Community Building located at 218 N. 5th St, Sarcoxie, Missouri 64862. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Delbert are invited to attend and honor his memory.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie, Missouri.
