(From Parker Mortuary)Norman Eugene "Skip" Boyd, Jr., age 64, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on February 5, 2024.
Skip was born in Joplin on October 12, 1959 to Norman and Jerry Boyd. After proudly serving his country in the Army, he returned to his hometown, where he applied his meticulous skills to repairing cars at a local body shop.
His love for riding motorcycles was matched only by his enthusiasm for video games. An animal lover at heart, Skip's kindness extended to all living creatures, and his pets were considered part of the family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Boyd; his father, Norman Boyd, Sr.; his children, Jeremy Boyd, Jasmine Barnett, Michelle, Shaun Asbell, and Tony Asbell; his grandchildren, Khloe, Nicholas, Cheyenne, Jayden, Logan, Kaylee, and Brooklyn; and his brother, Kevin Boyd. Skip's life was enriched by their laughter, love, and the countless memories they created together.
Skip was preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Boyd, and his children, Heather Asbell and Jeremy Asbell.
His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were part of his journey.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Cremation arrangement are under the direct care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Mo.
