(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Larry Eugene Ingersoll, 82, of Joplin, MO passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at home. Larry was born August 7, 1942 in Joplin, MO to the late Melvin Ingersoll and late Margaret Greenlee Ingersoll. Larry married the love of his life, Shirley Collins, in Saginaw, MO in September 1963. He lived in the Joplin area most of his life, not venturing away for too long. Larry was an avid bowler most of his life and enjoyed fishing and softball with family and friends in his younger years.
Larry retired from Roper Honda in 2007 as a parts runner and was gifted a trip to Hawaii for he and his wife by the company. They both enjoyed that weeklong trip and spoke often about returning.
After retirement, Larry filled his days working on crafts at home with Shirley and bowling on several leagues. He met so many great friends over the years at the bowling alley. Larry enjoyed the simple things in life and always had a smile on his face. He was extremely proud of his kids and three grandkids.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Margaret; two brothers, Max and Kenny; a niece, Tonya Black Spencer; his mother-in-law Millie Parrill; and his wife, Shirley.
He is survived by his son, David Ingersoll; two daughters, Abby Ingersoll and Jena Johnson (Seth Engle); two grandchildren, Eson Johnson and Paige Johnson, one great granddaughter, Joelene Lampson (Elijah Willis); one brother, Melvin Ingersoll (Carolyn); one sister, Leona Hardesty; two sisters-in-law Della Castillo (Adolfo) and Glenda Hodges (Johnny), many nieces and nephews, as well as several adopted kids and close friends.

Family and friends are invited Wednesday, February 5, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at Mason-Woodard in Joplin, MO for visitation. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 6, at Mason-Woodard with graveside service following at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, MO.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Smith, Brian Martin, Eson Johnson, Seth Engle, Jason Ingersoll, and Jeff Copeland.
