Colleen Huff

Colleen Ann (Goff) Huff – McCune- Mrs. Colleen Huff, 78, of rural McCune, KS, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

Mrs. Huff was born February 7, 1947, to Glenna (Mutch) and Charles E. Goff at Girard Hospital. She attended Monmouth Grade School and graduated from Southeast High School with the Class of 1965.

She married James P. Huff on August 19, 1967 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, rural Girard. They were married for 57 years.








Mrs. Huff was a homemaker and farm wife. She held many secretarial positions in her younger years including Craw-Kan Telephone, Day & Zimmerman, Midwest Minerals, and Pittsburg State University Student Financial Aid Department. She also was an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Agency. Mrs. Huff earned a BS Degree in Human Resource Management from Friends University – Wichita in 1991. 

In her later years, she worked as an At-Risk Tutor at Cherokee Middle School before retiring. For several years she owned and operated the Pot ‘N Putter Ceramic Shop and taught private piano lessons to many area children. She was passionate about 4-H in both her formative years and later as a Project Leader for Cooking and Crafts. 

Mrs. Huff was an avid gardener, canner, and baker. She was an active member of the regional chapter of Kansas Association for Family and Community Education. Mrs. Huff and her husband Jim were awarded the Kansas Bankers Association Award for Soil Conservation in 2008 as well as the Crawford County Award for Continuing Conservation in 2022. 

Mrs. Huff was an active member and Deaconess of the Osage Church. For many years she taught Sunday school and volunteered in Bible School as a teacher and craft leader. She also directed the church’s chime choir, played keyboard for Sunday morning services, and sang in the church choir.

Mrs. Huff is survived by her husband, James (Jim) of the home; three sons, Dr. C.J. Huff (Jennifer) of Springfield, MO; Dr. Ryan Huff (Teresa) of Nixa, MO; and Raymond Huff (Ashka) of Girard. Additionally, she was blessed with seven grandchildren: Savannah Huff, Keaton Huff, Lauren Huff, Layton Huff, Julianne Huff, Maximus Huff, and Kaja Huff. Mrs. Huff is survived by two sisters, Janis Goedeke (Darrel) of McCune and Gale Goff of Girard; sisters-in-law Sharon Leonard and Carolyn Barr (Darrell) of Girard; an aunt Normalee (Goff) VanBeacelere of Pittsburg; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.








She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Goff; her mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Huff; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Leslie Goff; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Mutch; a niece, Stacy Goedeke; and brother-in-law, Amos Leonard.

Visitation will be held at Brenner Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 6:00-8:00pm. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 6, at 10:00am at Osage Church, rural McCune, with Pastor Jim Therrien officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Osage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Osage Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg.
