Susan Palmieri

Susan Mary Anthony Palmieri, born on July 9, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the age of 89.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan's life was filled with love, grace, and service. She was a woman of deep faith and was involved in her church community as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.








Susan cherished her family above all else, and she is survived by her beloved children: Brad Livingood and his wife Denise, David Palmieri, Ann Campbell and her husband Don, Carol Gray and her husband Steve, and Leslie Kieb and her husband Brian. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Craig with his wife Sara, Leslie with her husband Bobby, John with his wife Ashley, David, Josh with his wife Allison, Laura with her husband Chris, Amy with her husband Glen, Christie and her husband Aaron, and Katie with her husband Greg. Susan also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Amara, Gaetano, Audrey, Caroline, Hallie, and Grey.

A passionate gardener and skilled quilter, Susan found joy and creativity in her hobbies, which she shared generously with those around her. Additionally, Susan was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for over 55 years, first in Joplin, Missouri, and later in the Stamp Defiance Chapter in Wilmington, NC, where she served as Chapter Regent, Treasurer, and First Vice Regent.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guy Palmieri, her parents, John Phelps Anthony and Mary (née Snell) Anthony and her siblings, Carole Hampton and Jack Anthony.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Susan on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, located at 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Susan will be laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Webb City, Missouri.








Susan's kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family and community will be long remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, link below, in memory of Susan.
