Sheyana Ames

Sheyana Dawn Ames, 28, of Troy, Missouri, was called to a higher purpose on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at her residence. She was born on January 6, 1997 and was the daughter of Terry (Jr) and Theresa (Worthington) Curtis. Sheyana was united in mar­riage to Stephen Ames September 19, 2020 in Neosho, Missouri and to this union one son, Sawyer Axle Ames was born.

Sheyana graduated from Elsberry High School, continued her education at Crowder College, earning an associate’s degree in animal science and later a bachelor’s degree at Murray State. In her earlier years, she worked for Cross 7 Vet Clinic, Rural King and started her career with Berkshire Hathaway as a Real Estate Agent, where she worked with her mother, Theresa Curtis. 






Sheyana loved to help people turn a house into a home. She actively supported the Sun­shine Kids Foundation. Sheyana earned the Core Value Realtor for 2024 and was a member of the ECBR, where she served on the RPAC committee. She touched many lives and was a bright light from the moment she entered the world. Sheyana was always active and on the go. Besides her son, Sawyer, her true passion in life was her horses, she lived for barrel racing, pole bending and her horse show family. Sheyana also loved to deer hunt, trap shoot and motorcycles. She never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. Sheyana was a member of the Eastern Missouri Cowboy Church in Bowling Green, MO, where she was very active and on the church board and taught teenage Bible Study Class. She had a contagious smile and was the life of the party.

Sheyana is survived by her husband, Stephen A. Ames; one son, Sawyer Axle Ames; her mother and father: Terry (Jr) Curtis and Theresa Curtis; one sister, Terissa Curtis; brothers: Whiskey Curtis (Hannah), Yukon Curtis (Jessie) and Shale Curtis (Misty); mater­nal grandmother, Shirley Worthington; two half-sisters: Holly Mattevi and Heather Villarreal; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends to celebrate her life. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Eugene Worthington; paternal grandparents: Terry and Joyce Curtis; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.








Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Eastern Missouri Cowboy Church located at 15735 North Business 61 Bowling Green, MO 63334. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Eastern Missouri Cowboy Church in Bowling Green, MO. 

A social gathering and celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm at Bowling Green VFW located at 505 VFW Road Bowling Green, MO 63334. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to The Family of Sheyana Dawn Ames, for Sawyer’s educational fund, in care of Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel P.O. Box 222, Troy, MO 63379.
