(From Ulmer Funeral Home)George Baker, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Carthage, Missouri. George was born on February 17, 1938, to Ira and Opal Baker in Carthage.
After graduating high school, George started working for Leggett and Platt. Later he became an EMT Supervisor for McCune Brooks Hospital. While working these jobs, he also farmed. During his down time, George liked to hunt and fish and was a master carpenter. He built three homes for himself and his family; and several other homes.
He was joined in marriage to Shirley June Millard on June 22, 1958, at the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church in Carthage; she survives.
Along with his wife Shirley Baker, George is survived by his son, George Keith Baker (Regina); three grandsons, Jacob, Josh, and Joseph; two great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, at Jasper Church in Jasper, Missouri.
