(From Parker Mortuary)Carlene Devon LaDue, age 63, of Joplin, passed away on March 14, 2025 while on a family vacation in Cozumel, Mexico.
Carlene was born on June 11, 1961 in Joplin, Missouri to the union of Owen “Carl” and Ruth (Meyer) Jones. She grew up in the Sarcoxie area most of her young life and transferred to Carthage Schools her senior year. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1979. She married Dan LaDue on August 16, 1980.
She worked for Shamrock Bolt for nearly 30 years before her passing. Carlene was an avid Chiefs fan. She enjoyed scuba diving, traveling to warm water beaches, spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling her granddogs. She was a member of the Christ’s Community Joplin for 15+ years. She was a member of Newton County Rescue & Recovery and active with Newton County Christmas For Kids organizations.
Carlene was preceded in death by her father, Carl Jones; and brother-in-law, Gary Lassley.
Carlene is survived by her husband, Dan LaDue; son, Jason LaDue and wife, Megan; daughter, Danielle LaDue; mother, Ruth Jones; three siblings, Rhonda Lassley, Dustin Jones and wife, Tami, and Rebecca Black and husband, Larry; and five grandchildren, Emma LaDue, Calder LaDue, Madelynn Shafer, Lucille Shafer and Robert Shafer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to the Newton County Christmas For Kids organization in care of the mortuary.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ’s Community Joplin with Pastor Chris Sloan officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery with Jason LaDue, Calder LaDue, Jared Weston, Drake Weston, David Groth and Robert Shafer serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
