Don Marshall

Donald Lee Marshall, age 92, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025 after a brief stay at Westgate Skilled Nursing Facility.

Don was born February 23, 1933 in Springfield, MO, son of the late Raymond Marshall and Doris (Mayes) Marshall. He grew up in

Neosho graduating from Neosho High School, class of 1951. At age 16, Don enjoyed boxing in the Golden Gloves. At age 18, Don started working as a meter reader for the Gas Service Company in Joplin, after working for 37 years he retired as Marketing Manager.








Don took early retirement. His passion was riding and touring on his Gold Wing Trike. He visited every state in the Union (except Alaska and Hawaii). Don also was an avid “Yard Man”. He loved taking care of his home and maintaining his beautiful property. He got many compliments through the years about his yard. He was a member of the Joplin Kiwanis Club and supported Missouri Southern State University athletics through his membership in the Missouri Southern Lionbackers.

Don proudly served in the United States Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Bette (Doennig) Marshall; a brother, Bill Marshall, and an infant sister.

Don’s pride and joy was his family. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.







Survivors include his daughter, Karen Hutchison (Rick Garrett) of Joplin, son, Doug Marshall (Debra) of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Brady Hutchison (Rachel) of Grove, OK, Casey Hutchison of Grove, Kyle Marshall (Alison) of Sanford, NC, Courtney Webb (Craig) of Carl Junction, MO, Lori Koehn (Jessee) of Oak Grove, MO; great-grandchildren, Couri, Chanler, Madison, Morgan, Wyatt, Wesley, Ophelia, Jack, Teddy, twins William and Matilda; several nieces.

Graveside service will be Friday, March 28, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ozark Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Bob Dart officiating, and Brady Hutchison, Casey Hutchison, Kyle Marshall, Craig Webb, Rick Garrett, and Jessee Koehn serving as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
