Jane Landon

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Jane Ann Landon, age 73, of Pineville, Missouri, passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning, March 26, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Bella Vista, Arkansas, following a massive heart attack. She entered this life on March 4, 1952, in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of the late Dale and Martha (Scrivner) Ewart.

Jane's journey began in the heart of Iowa, where she was a 1970 graduate of East High School. Her passion for caring for others led her to pursue and achieve a degree in nursing.

In 1982, Jane moved to Pineville, Missouri, where she continued her career in healthcare. Her professional path was diverse and impactful, including roles at Evenson, Carlin and LePage Law Office, as a company nurse at Hudson Foods, a valued member of the McDonald County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and a compassionate caregiver at Integrity Pediatrics and Home Healthcare.

Jane's heart was always her guide, and it led her to Carl Landon, with whom she shared thirty-six years of marriage after their union on August 24, 1988. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyous chaos that comes with a large family. Jane's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband, Carl, her nine children: Tasha Wilson, Tori Sorenson, Keesha Landon, Chris Landon, Jessica McCollum, Brian Landon, Melissa Duncan, Jill Boles and Melissa Henry; as well as her twenty-one grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, her brother David Ewart, and her sisters Joan Link and Beth Most. Her life was also enriched by a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Ewart.

Beyond her family and professional life, Jane's interests were a reflection of her love for the great outdoors and her commitment to her community. She found solace in gardening, joy in fishing, and adventure in camping. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories and making memories. Jane's spirit of volunteerism shone brightly at Roaring River State Park in Cassville, where she dedicated her time and energy. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Pineville United Methodist Church.

Perhaps one of Jane's most remarkable contributions was her role as a dedicated foster parent. Over the years, she and Carl opened their hearts and home to over three hundred area children, providing a safe haven and a nurturing environment for those in need. Jane's selfless love and the lessons she imparted have left an indelible mark on the lives of many.

The Landon family will receive friends for a time of Visitation and Viewing on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the Landon Family to help begin a community flower and vegetable garden in Pineville. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home.
