(From Parker Mortuary)Ronnie C. Simpson, age 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 16, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. Born on November 10, 1935, in San Angelo, Texas, Ronnie proudly carried his Texas roots wherever he went. Although he lived in Missouri for over 50 years, Texas always remained home in his heart.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Marilyn Simpson, and their four cherished children: Tim Simpson, Jana Bennett (Cliff), and Nancy Williams (Anthony), all of Omaha, Nebraska, and Sarah Carrender (Trent) of Springdale, Arkansas. Ronnie was also blessed with 14 grandchildren: Rebekah Koch, Josh Bennett, Machaela Rowe, Mariah Thompson, Austin Williams, Nina Williams, Justin Williams, Keenan Williams, Quentin Williams, Zoie Williams, Layla Williams, Caden Huggins, Sadie Huggins, and Calli Huggins; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, all of whom loved him dearly. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Paula Sue Middleton of Henderson, KY.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, J. Paul and Margaret Simpson.
Ronnie's deep love for his family was matched only by his gift for giving wise advice. Known for his playful sense of humor, he delighted in sharing a good joke—even when it occasionally raised an eyebrow. He was a dedicated worker who took immense pride in his accomplishments, a seasoned salesman who always stood by his word and had an uncanny sense for recognizing what his client needed. His happiest days, though, were days spent on his boat with friends and family, fishing pole in hand. Some might say his fishing stories occasionally grew larger with each telling, but Ronnie always insisted they were mostly true.
Ronnie's outgoing nature meant he never met a stranger; his warm, welcoming presence made him an instant friend to all. Ron was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served his God loyally until his death. He was fiercely passionate about his faith, eagerly sharing his beliefs and encouraging others through his words and deeds.
