Ginia Oehlschlager

(From Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home)

Virginia Anne (Fairchild) Oehlschlager died at her home, surrounded by family, Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was 42.

Ginia’s most cherished role was that of wife to Matthew Oehlschlager and mother to their four children, Kadence, Rylan, Bella and Masen.

But she also held a degree in mass communications from Missouri Southern State University and served a college internship covering the Missouri State Legislature. She wrote, edited and did just about every other role in the Lawrence County Record. She tutored Chinese children online through VIP Kid and homeschooled her children.

After she and Matt bought a small farm, she embraced farm life, raising chickens, ducks, turkeys and pigs, and helping with the cattle; raising a big garden, canning, making bread and preserving foods. She wrote about the good, the bad and the ugly of her farm experiences and raising four small children in her “My Home on the Farm” column.

Ginia was born Dec. 13, 1982, to Steve and Kathy (Seneker) Fairchild, and was big sister to Brett Jackson Fairchild. She was a 2001 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and a 2004 graduate of Missouri Southern State University.

Besides Matt, Kadence, Rylan, Bella, Masen, Brett and her parents, she is survived by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, many cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Rosemary Seneker, Dale Fairchild and Helen Lieurance, and a special cousin, Joe Brennan.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025 ,at First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Vernon. Burial will follow in Ozark Prairie Cemetery
