(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Margie L. Akins, age 76, of Joplin, MO has passed away on March 26th, 2025. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margie was born on December 4th, 1948, in Joplin, MO to her parents Willie E. and Bernice M. (Alexander) Bresee.
Margie was a healthcare worker for several years and worked at Hallmark for a short time.
She loved Jesus and enjoyed being involved in church functions until she was no longer able to. Some of her favorite things to do were spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, and going shopping or garage sailing. Margie was a beautiful person, inside and out, and loved her kids, grandkids, and many great grandkids very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Bernice Bresee and two siblings, Bobby Bresee (Marsha who survives), and Donna Bresee, and one granddaughter Samantha Kraft.
Margie is survived by five siblings, Willie Bresee (Pat), Norma Enlow (Charles), Irene Smith (Gene), Homer Bresee (Merna), and Teresa Thomas (Ben); two children, Debbie Ornsby (Mike) and John Kraft (Aretha); Debbie’s children include Shane Royer(Kay) and his children, Colton, Owen, Emmett, and Lucas and Katie Belk (Austin) and her children, Gabriel and Elijah; John’s children include Andrea Wright and her children, Isabella, Delani, and Emma and Will Kraft(Chelsea) and his children Memphis and (expecting) Emryss and Johnathan Kraft.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Josh Pennington will officiate. Serving as pallbearers are John Kraft, Will Kraft, Johnathan Kraft, Shane Royer, Austin Belk, and Mike Ornsby.
The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
