(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Gladys L. Courtney, 86, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on April 29, 1938, in Quapaw, Oklahoma.
She had resided most of her life in Joplin, Missouri.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 25 years. She enjoyed fishing with her family.
She married Bill Courtney, Sr. on August 9, 1954, in Santa Anna, California and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2011.
Survivors include one daughter; Sheryl Woodrow of Joplin, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one son; Bill Courtney, Jr., one daughter; Rhonda Courtney, her parents; Levi and Lucille Herndon Ussery, one brother; Tom Ussery.
There will be a Memorial Service conducted at a later date.
Interment of her cremains will be at the Carterville Cemetery.
