Etta May Eubanks, 89, Ottawa, Kansas, former of the Granby and Diamond communities, entered into rest on Aug. 8, 2017 in Ottawa, Kansas, following a two month illness.
Etta was born Sept. 29, 1927 in Diamond, Missouri and lived most of her life in the Granby, Diamond and Neosho area. She had moved to Ottawa, Kansas in November 2012 from Granby. Etta had been active in the Meals On Wheels program, OATS, a former member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxilary and a former DAR Member. She enjoyed singing, reading and music and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Etta married James Earl Eubanks, Jr. on March 24, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by five children, Earl G. Eubanks of San Antonia, TX; Marietta G. (Bill) Wandel of Oklahoma City, OK; Paul K. (Ginger) Eubanks of Hermann, MO; Donna J. (Rickey) Beardsley of Ottawa, KS and Joy L. (Don) Baragary of Booneville, MO; one sister, Mary Ellen Jones of Fayetteville, AR; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son, James Ray Eubanks in 1995 and a grandson, Rickey L. Beardsley, Jr.
Services for Etta will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at 2 pm at the West Union Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation prior to the service at the church from 1 pm until service time. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Granby. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho on Friday from 9 am until 5 pm.
