Della Mae Bridges, 82, Neosho, passed suddenly on October 30, 2017. She was born March 7, 1935 in Tipton Ford, MO to Gilbert and Ruth (Rion) Wallace. Della was a lifelong area resident and had worked over 20 years as an accounting clerk for Sale Memorial Hospital and also worked for Scholastic in Neosho, retiring from each. She loved to crochet, making quilts for her great grandchildren, and was a wonderful cook. Della was a charter member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully during her life at Bethel Baptist in Seneca, New Hope Baptist in the Round Prairie Community, New Salem Baptist, and at Cave Spring Baptist, where she currently holds her membership. She was a member of Women On Mission at Cave Spring Baptist.
Della married Fred Roy Bridges on August 15, 1954 at Bethel Baptist Church; he preceded her in death on October 17, 2005.
Surviving family members are five children: Rick D. Bridges and wife, Ginger K., Gary D. Bridges and wife, Renee, Rev. Ronald G. Bridges and wife, Cynthia A., Michael D. Bridges and wife, Sharon, and Douglas A. Bridges and wife, Brenda; brother in law, Billy Housh; 18 grandchildren, numerous loved great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband, Della was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Wallace; one sister, Ellen Housh; and two great grandchildren, Alexis and Coraline.
Services will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, with Rev. Del Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 – 7 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
