Jean Marie Dearing, age 89, Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation.
Jean was born August 21, 1928 in Parsons, Kansas to the late Francis and Lois Maxine Baxley Begey. She graduated from nursing school and worked as an R.N. for the original Freeman Hospital and later retired from Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin. She was of the Catholic faith.
On July 21, 1951, Jean married Truman Lee Dearing in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2010. Additionally, a daughter, Sharon Ames and two brothers, Frank and Kenneth Begey have also preceded Jean in death.
Survivors include sons, Bill Dearing and wife, Sharon, Tim Dearing, both of Joplin, Tom Dearing and wife, Irmgard of Virginia Beach, Virginia; daughter, Tina Jefferies and husband, Robert of Aurora, Missouri; sister, Kay Leili of Estes Park, Colorado; brother, Greg Begey and wife, Mary of Joplin; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A committal of ashes will be held Tuesday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
