Martha Neoma Gage, 83, formerly of Goodman, MO, passed into eternal rest at 11:45 pm at the Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.
Martha Neoma Wethey was born December 10, 1933 in Delaware County, OK the daughter of Theodore Emmet and Martha Aretha (Patrick) Wethey. Martha was of the Pentecostal faith and faithful to her Lord and Savior she attended the Apostolic Lighthouse in Racine, MO. She loved all her family unconditionally. She loved to collect rocks and worked hard all her life. She formerly worked at Simmons in Southwest City and Crowder Industries in Neosho. Martha retired in the early 2000’s.
Martha Neoma Wethey married Troy E. Gage March 11, 1953 in Pineville, MO and he preceded her in death February 16, 2016. Also preceding her in death her parents, 5 infant children, one daughter Ruth E. Clark; siblings; Orville Wethey, Zelma Chandler, Artie Chandler and Wanell Canady.
Survivors include three sons, John Pual Gage, Cameron, MO, Troy Dale Gage, Sayer, OK and Jeff Ray Gage, Fort Supply, OK; four daughters, Dena Ballard, Aurora, MO, Rosa Edwards and husband David, Seneca, Mary Sheridan and husband John, Coleman, OK and Mitz Gage, Joplin; one brother, James Wethey, Chetopa, OK; two sisters, Ellen Gates, Marrionville, MO and Dorothy Wethey, Republic, MO and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Monday, October 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Sampson officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with family members serving as pallbearers.
